Lion With a Kill

Almost every guided tour in an African game reserve goes out each morning in hopes of witnessing a "kill." This lion has been portrayed immediately following the kill and is heading off for breakfast. In all probability this male has taken the little buck from the lionesses who did the actual work of hunting. This starkly beautiful statue is carved from Serpentine stone and mounted on a wooden base.

The sculpture weighs 9 1/2 pounds. It is 6 1/2 inches tall, 14 1/2 inches long and 4 inches wide.
