Something quite different and very beautifully done. We think of this as a lovely birdbath but there are probably many, many different uses to which it might be put. Unfortunately we don't know the artist who created this splendid piece. The work was crafted from very dark brown Serpentine stone with black and green veins. It was made to resemble a bird. We saw this item and decided to vary from our "one-only" rule. We have a reasonably good inventory of these lovely sets of holiday decorations. They are wooden -- hand made and painted by Shona crafts people in Zimbabwe. As shown in the photo, they have provision for inserting string or many other types of hanging devices. These lovely decorations come packed in sets of nine with colors varying somewhat. Great as gifts! The entire set weighs slightly over 8 ounces. The little elephant is the tallest piece at about 1 3/4 inches high. The other little decorations average from about an inch to 1 1/2 inches high. |
