Beautiful Woman Winnowing
This beautiful carving a woman winnowing is carved from serpentine stone. It has tiger eye spots and has been finished with both rough and polished surfaces. We are told the piece is the work of Costa Balakasi however we cannot make out the signature. The statue weighs 12 pounds. It is 16 3/4 inches high, 4 1/2 inches wide, and 4 3/4 inches deep.

	This is an intersting piece and one that would be nice to be able to get the artists take on the piece and what the meaning of the unfinished mouth is.The only part of the signature we can make out are four letters STEP. The piece is carved out of Springstone and has the typical contrasting browns so often found in this stone. This statue weighs 4 pounds 4 ounces. It is 9 1/2 inches high, 5 1/4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep.
