Interesting Springstone Head

This is an interesting piece. It would be nice to be able to get the artists take on the piece and the meaning of the way he did the mouth.The only part of the signature we can make out are four letters STEP. The piece is carved out of Springstone and has the typical contrasting browns so often found in this stone.

This statue weighs 4 pounds 4 ounces. It is 9 1/2 inches high, 5 1/4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep.
